Automatic Login per SSH

Automatic Login per SSH

This tutorial explains how you can login to remote computers over ssh without typing in your password all the time, using public key authorization.

First of all, you need to create a public key (if you don't have one already). Check if you have a file called ~/.ssh/ If the file doesn't exist, create one with this command:
ssh-keygen -t dsa

Now you need to append your public key to a file ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the remote server that you want to login to. Replace remoteuser and with your own credentials.
cat ~/.ssh/ | ssh -l remoteuser 'cat >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys'
That's it! Now you can login to the remote server without being asked for your password.
